Made out of 100% natural fibers of baby alpaca. Woven in handloom by Andean communities in Perú.
Baby alpaca is the fleece shared from the first clip of the shearling alpaca. It’s one of the most luxurious fibers in the world due to its silky softness and velvet touch. Garments made of this fiber are rich in diversity of colors, comfortable and versatile to wear. They are much lighter, warmer and stronger than wool. The alpaca lives in the highlands of the Peruvian Andes, Bolivia, and Northern Chile. Their thick, sumptuous coats range from ivory to black colors, in shades of gray and brown. The noble alpaca is tended by native Andean herdsmen.
This specific plaid comes from a small, remote community of artisans living at 3000 meters above the sea level, far from communication and urban areas. These artisans revive techniques such as spinning and handlooms which have been inherited from their rich local history.
